This is the second Puma bought from new and I can honestly say that it is the best drivers car that I have ever had, very rewarding, it goes exactly where you point it with no fuss and at whatever speed you want The engine and gearbox are a delight,... The best handling car I have owned - not saying there aren't better, but in the price range I doubt it can be beaten. Great fun to drive, shame the model is now obsolete.
Loved my first Puma so much that when Ford announced they were stopping making them, I traded it in for one of the last ones. It's great fun to drive, very responsive, and I think they look gorgeous too. The only problem I've had in 4 years of owning... Just a beaut! Converted me overnight to a fanantic! Hated cars before that - just functional use and not very functional at that (old Sierra). Just keep wanting to drive my car anywhere now. Try one - you'll want one!
Astoundingly good value for money. Great looks (to my eyes anyway) amazing handling which is also forgiving, reasonably quick (although the chassis could easily handle more BHP) and extremely practical. Find another car that is as easy to l... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Great little motor, has a wonderfull look of its own, handling is excellent, the yamaha 1.7 engine is a joy with lots of torque-great for overtaking, cheap insurance, good mpg. I could go on and on. All in all I would recommend a good Ford Puma to an... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Haven't had any problems with this car. It drives beautifully, looks great on the road and is very responsive. One of the safest cars I have ever had with good responsive brakes and good steering. Well put together by Ford and inexpensive spares.
Only the third car I've actually bought, company cars up until then (BMW's included) and it's my second Puma - need I say more? Absolutely fabulous!
Superb car to drive Does everything I expected of it and more. I can't think of anything else that is as much fun to drive, stylish, and (reasonably) practical for the money Excellent owners forum at pumapeople.co.uk. Check there for advice before y... Terrific car in every respect Bad points first: there is some compromise in luggage capacity, and it doesn't cruise very well on motorways thanks to a low-ratio gearbox. But that's it The handling and steering absolutely destroys many so-called spor... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Best car I’ve ever driven. Superb handling, exciting lively engine & build quality better than anything else Ford has ever done.
The puma is an outstanding car for the money- excellent ride, handling and performance. I've owned mine from new (4 years) with no faults of any kind. It's great fun to own and drive, a true peach!
The bomb, I challenge anyone to take a Puma into a bend and come out the other side without a grin like a cheshire cat. Could do with a bit more poke but it flues round corners that quick that you'll leave much more powerful motors in your dust wonde... This is a fantastic car, had it for 8 months and no problems whatsoever. Had a Peugeot 206GTI previously which was extremely unreliable and cost me a huge amount of money in the time I had it, I thought it had put me off happy car ownership for life.... I have had this car from new (March 2001) and it has been very reliable,it drives and handles extremely well and the 1700cc engine is brilliant. In January this year I traded it in against a new Ford Focus 1.8 tdci hatchback,I was very reluctant to le... Fantastic car for the money, better overall than my previous RS1800 by miles. Build quality seems much improved apart from the brakes being a little below what you would expect Just minor niggles really, windscreen wiper nut caps keep flying off; ne... Excellent motor, good engine response, comfortable cabin with all dials and switches in easy reach Looks as good as it drives with good upgrade potential - ask around at www.pumapeople.com and see just how far you can go.
Great car to drive has a real feel good factor. Economical to run, good road holding and a pleasure to drive Like the automatic boot opening. Agree with other comment about water drips into the boot when you open it after rain.
Most certainly the worst car I have ever owned. After 6 trips to the dealership to fix an engine judder it was finally sorted but they messed up the dashboard electronics in the process Nice car to drive but too unreliable and poorly put together. S... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Excellent car for the money. Good looking, sensibly quick and brilliant handling. It is even practical and economical. The only minor points are the clutch is weak, but this might be because the car makes you drive enthusiastically and it has had ... This car is truly superb. To be honest, I really would treat any 'lemon' ratings about this vehicle with a real pinch of salt. Any bad experiences with a puma are probably because someone has bought on which has been abused - they are really well bui... Awesome lil car...Hefty price tag when they were released, but, handling is like it's on train tracks! Fuel comsumption reasonable. Still going strong after five years ownership from new :)
Some people call it 'girly' But I've owned the standard 1.7 for 5 years / 76,000 miles with nothing but standard servicing. Now I've upgraded to the limited edition 'Racing Puma' A truly stylish body melded to above average... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Great car to drive, steering and handling very precise, revvy and very nippy. Looks cool, still! The manufacturer has turned into a boring accountant run company and hence does not produce the car any longer.
Absolute corker. Very well made. Goes extremely well. Had not problems with the car since I bought it new. Dealers not to good, but cos its a ford you can always try a differnet one round the corner. Cheap to run and own. The best looking ford ever.
Great-innovative design-future classic. No nonsense mechanics. Sporty without being outrageous. Get one now while they are a sensible buy and before they become 'classic' cars
We've had the car for four years with a few minor niggles but overall an excellent car The road holding/handling is superb, acceleration is not mind-blowing but it does pull well through all the gears and the shortshift gearbox make it seem sporty Th... Fantastic car for the keen driver and for the money you won't get a better handling car with low running costs. Great fun and nobody will think you are in a company car, how cool is that?
I love my Puma to bits - it has been an absolute delight to own for the past 2 years, with trouble free (& reasonably priced) servicing & MOT The close ratio gearbox & great handling make it a real driver’s car. The amount of boot ... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
Fantastic fun car with great handling. Fuel economy is excellent particularly on motorway with £26 worth of fuel getting you almost 300 miles Sporty with good (not amazing) acceleration. Boot is an OK size but the parcel shelf does tend to deta... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
great car, had a few niggles but its all part of the cars charachter. You have to expect it as the car is 6 years old
After previously owning a Clio 1.2, driving the Puma was a dream, lots more bhp, and the looks are great and stylish. It and handles well, but in the wet handles poorly and should be driven with care, great CD player, a poor mans sports car, next ca... It's definitely a good looking car, and even at 1400cc it was fun to drive. Now the buts - the rate at which it used oil was unbelievable. In addition to this, the oil warning light wasn't too reliable so I really had to check the dipstick regularl... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
I discovered my puma my pure accident - id never considered anything like this before. My dad told me i should sit in it and take a look, i did, purely to humour him-didnt think i would ever own one. I sat in it - and that was it - i knew i had to ... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
This is the best car I have ever driven. It is about 1,000,000 times better than a stupid Tigra!
I am having to let my Puma go for something a little more practical so I think it fitting to give it a good send off I have driven all sorts of cars over the last 22 years and can safely say the Puma is fantastic, by far the best. I have been consta... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
I love my Puma, I may have only had it for about a month but it's the nicest and fastest car I've ever driven. A real head-turner! Mine is red and for the first time in ages I'm getting blokes wink at me at petrol stations! My friends love it, and th... This is the best little car I have ever had. I mean, why else keep it for 7 years! Handling is immaculate and the engine is perky (although perhaps not fast at 8.6 to 60). The boot is roomy for a coupe too!
I have owned my Puma for about 6 years. When I brought it it had covered about 45,000 miles, it is now on a massive 186,000 miles and still going strong. The car has needed 2 new clutches over that time. Apart from the normal wear and tear, it has no... To read the FULL REVIEW, click here - Its FREE to browse, you just need to register.
When they said it was the "drivers car" they weren't kidding. Fantastic for those that want both an easy car and one that can drive you round the bend, in the best way.
